Another week, another shiny NEW blog feature. I’m really excited about this one! It’s a STYLE TOUR, where we go on a little tour of all the features of our special core styles. 

KAD collections are built around essential styles. They’re all one size– designed to fit a good range of bodies – generally from XXS to XXL but of course there are exceptions because every body is unique- so we have a detailed dimensions diagram for every style as well. KAD styles are timeless classics, designed to last waaay beyond the fast fashion cycles. Today I want to take you on a tour of the lovely RUBY! Oh em gee we love love LOVE this dress.

Ruby is a mid-length dress, can be worn as a long tunic over jeans or leggings (depending on how tall you are!). Ruby is flowy and fluid- so perfectly suited to dreamy organic cotton satin as well as our crisp linen. The sleeves are one of the defining features of this beauty- they are full and gathered at the wrist so they really puff out and drape super dramatically. The cuff has a button closure though so if you want to dial back the drama you can totally roll up these sleeves for a more casual look. There are big hidden side seam pockets- of course! The collar is a lovely split crew with a deep slit down the front which is quite sexy and again- drama! But also if you want to tone it down you can easily layer underneath the dress- a turtleneck looks amazing, or any long sleeve top is great too. The hem of the Ruby is flared and curved- with nice side vents so it’s a pleasure to ride your bike! Ruby looks super chic belted and super chic loose- it’s such a versatile dress… there’s a reason it’s a best-selling favourite!!!

Another great feature of Ruby is that it’s a year-round go-to– so great in the winter as a layer in the cotton satin, and for summer in linen it’s kind of unbeatable- super airy and light– keeps you cool while keeping the sun off. Another great feature of the Ruby dress is that it’s SO easy to wear- just pull it over your head and you are INSTANTLY ready to greet the day, hit the streets, hop on your bike, go to a party, head to the beach… you get the picture!

This is a one and done situation. I LOVE this so much- no fussing for super results. It’s not like you dont look amazing it’s just that it takes minimal effort to get there. And it’s comfy AND elegant. That’s a revolutionary combo, and I am so excited about it I want to shout it from the rooftop!!! Because why cant we have it all when it comes to being free and fabulous in our own clothing???? This lovely dress is called Ruby to shine light on Ruby Bridges- the bravest six year old who made history as the first African American to attend a formerly whites-only school- she was at the vanguard of desegregation, and is a lifelong Civil Rights activist- a truly inspiring woman. I also love the gem, the colour, and the song (Ruby Tuesday) too! It’s a great name- I know a lot of lovely people named Ruby as well. So that’s the RUBY TOUR!!! I’m honestly so excited to make more Rubies with every new collection! It’s such a gorgeous, easy to wear, effortlessly stunning dress!
