PRINT CHAT: it's all about MELODY!
YAY! A new blog, starting TODAY, and this is the first regular feature: PRINT CHAT! This is a lil moment where I'm going to chat about the inspirations and origins of my print designs!! So lets dive right in and chat about MELODY!
Melody is one of the first prints I designed and I just LOVED it right away. I was sketching this gorgeous geranium I was babysitting for my mom while she was away for the summer and it was just in full glorious hot red bloom and I love the shape of the leaves and that yummy unmistakable scent. I gradually turned the sketch into a print, as I wanted to capture that denseness and flower-full quality of the garden at that moment. I love the motion and life in this print which is why I called it Melody- it reminds me of a lively ditty or a sweet summery tune.
I'm SOOO thrilled to see Melody in our new home collection- as thrilled as I am to wear my Melody print Katherines in Blues, Aquas and Black and white! I love how the print looks so different depending on the colour story- it's easy to wear as an allover evenly balanced print- I would even say it's little quiet because it's not super graphic or geometric- just a pleasing, soft floral. YAY MELODY!
