Welcome to a NEW blog feature!! I'm calling this one Colour Freak Out because basically I am freaking out about colour!!! All the time!!! I'm gonna get specific for the purpose of this blog feature, and focus on a different colour or colour combo for each post. I am so stoked for this!!!!!! There will be many exclamation marks!!!!!

First up, my absolute fave of the faves, RED AND PINK.... Aaaaaah!!!! I'm truly freaking out!!!! A lot of my freak out for red and pink starts with flowers OF COURSE!

  

Nature really knows what’s what when it comes to red and pink!!!!!! 

This is just a very small sampling of my extensive pink and red flower library as you can well imagine!! I have been taking and collecting colour reference/inspiration pix forEVER… and it’s not just flowers that i freak out for!!! 

One of my fave red/pink inspo pieces is a hammock that I had the pleasure to nap and read in- on a beach on the tiny island of Holbox in Mexico- it’s mostly just a beach, a little sand dune in the Gulf of Mexico where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean… no big hotels or cars.. quiet, peaceful and quite windy too! Lots of kite surfing and fresh breezes!!! And lots of time for lounging in a red/pink hammock! 

SO DREAMY!!! Yes, I did freak out every time i got into this hammock! 

I play with red and pink a lot in my work- I have for as long as I can remember! In 2018 I created this logo for the Toronto International Festival of Authors… you can imagine how much I freaked out every time I saw this red/pink situation all around the city!!!!! I’m still freaking out to be honest!!!

I saw some programs/flyers at a David Sedaris reading— I was already freaking out because I love David Sedaris so much, and then seeing these there??? Full on FREAK OUT!! 

As well, I often turn to the red/pink in my painting/drawing palettes…

I also find colour inspiration in a dye pot… when I’ve got a red/pink vat going you can be sure I am 100% freaking out, all the time!!! 

AAAAAAAAHHHH love those little hits of red in the sea of hot hot pink!! I am freaking out now even just thinking about it!!!!! 

So.. pink and red does feature a lot in KAD too… here’s a couple of examples from past collections… 

YUM!!!! Here’s a pic I took wearing red and pink and every time i looked down I freaked out! 

And a little pic from many years ago when my babies were babies… there was a lot of red and pink (on my red and pink marimekko duvet!) then too… and I did constantly freak out about the colour (and the cuteness!) those baby toessss!!!
